I think you missed my point here. It was not the progressive evolution of the UI that I was complaining about; that I can handle. I was complaining about the fact when I click on the docked folder sometimes I get a Finder window, sometimes I get a fan and sometimes I get a grid. Furthermore, sometimes the docked folder looks like a folder, sometimes it looks like a disk image, sometimes it looks like an installable package, sometimes something else. It's this constant changing of appearance and behaviour, over a short time frame, that I believe is confusing and inconsistent.
