CocoaHeads Jan 10: Filesystems with MacFUSE
Ted Bonkenburg of Google will give a talk on MacFUSE at the next CocoaHeads Silicon Valley meeting on Thursday, January 10. MacFUSE is an open-source project which allows developers to write user-space filesystems (Update: Thursday, January 10, Update 2: Slight relocation). Some interesting applications for the framework have cropped recently, including GrabFS and iTunesFS.
Ted's talk will focus mainly on the Objective-C API, but he says much of it carries over to using MacFUSE with other languages. He encourages everyone to bring their laptops (with Xcode 2.5 or higher installed) and follow along in creating a simple filesystem.

"Garage 1" Conference Room, Apple Building 4
There's no fee or pre-registration required. You can just show up. If you enter the campus from the main De Anza driveway, turn left and follow the road all the way around until you see the gigantic 4 on the sidewalk. Walk up and knock so that someone can let you in.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the Google Data API talk, so we're really excited to have our friends from the Google Mac team back. Also take a look at the Google Mac blog.
GrabFS found via DaringFireball, iTunesFS found via TUAW.
